HP takes raw power to a whole new level, with machine-turned die-cast aluminum baskets and powerful Open Loop motors that utilize a vented hybrid magnet structure which dramatically increases airflow through the speaker.Open Loop speaker technology keeps the HP-Series subwoofers running cool even under the most demanding SPL situations.

If you’re looking for competition-level bass at an affordable price, the new HP series from Orion is your weapon of choice. HP (for High Performance) subwoofers feature metalized polypropylene cones that are designed to handle the huge 14mm of excursions without flexing. They play even louder due to the increased magnet strength and cooling capabilites created by the hybrid open loop motor structure. The HP uses a 2.5″ aluminum voice coil former and a medium-wide nitrile-butyl rubber (NBR) surround to handle earth-shaking bass. High current tinsel leads transfer power from the large gauge binding posts to the multi-layer voice coils with minimum loss. These bass machines feature a machined die-cast aluminum frame with a protective magnet boot to provide a solid foundation for a world-class subwoofer. When you are ready for a serious subwoofer, step up to the HP series! Dual 2-ohm voice coils can be wired together for a single 4-ohm or 1-ohm load.

The H2TM (short for “HCCA gen 2″) subwoofer design features a unique new motor design called Dual Gap Geometry(patented) that centers a short, lightweight voice coil between two magnetic gaps. The resulting ultralight moving mass is driven through a far flatter, more linear stroke by the extended magnetic field. The result is phenomenal excursion -29mm Xmax- and linearity as well as enhanced efficiency, and innovations in the basket industrial design allow an industry-leading 2000 watts continuous power handling. Dual spiders on a raised ventilated spider tower support the extreme mechanical excursion limits and improve air flow for better cooling.

All of this results in a subwoofer that can perform at the edge of the SPL envelope and beyond while keeping its cool. And of course, the H2™ sounds as sweet as it looks…
