Pioneer AVIC-Z2 DVD/CD Receiver
Pioneer’s AVIC-Z2 navigation receiver features a 30-gigabyte hard drive that stores navigation data and up to 10 gigabytes of music ripped from your CDs. You can command this receiver through its touchscreen controls, and control important navigation functions with your voice. Playback of your DVDs and CDs gives you a complete multimedia center that fits perfectly in a double-sized dash opening.
Pioneer has updated its navigation maps to provide better representations of buildings and landmarks. A split screen with both overhead and 3D map views makes it easy to see upcoming turns, while giving you the big picture for directions down the road. And you can add a compatible tuner and subscribe to XM’s NavTraffic service for continuously updated traffic information in many major metropolitan areas. The AVIC-Z2 remembers the roads you travel frequently, and over time suggests roads with which you’ll be familiar and comfortable.
An included microphone lets you control many aspects of the navigation system using voice commands. Text-to-speech technology allows the AVIC-Z2 to announce most street names as you’re approaching your turn, so you’ll know where to turn without having to take your eyes off the road. The advanced program helps the system pronounce many tricky names correctly, instead of phonetically as some systems do.
This versatile DVD player reserves up to 10 gigabytes of the hard drive’s memory to store music it rips from your standard CDs, plus the MP3 files you’ve burned on disc. The preloaded Gracenotes® software will even pull up and display the disc, artist, and track names for most CDs. You’ll have a virtual jukebox in your dash, loaded with your favorite tunes.
You can also use the 7″ screen to watch your favorite DVD videos while you’re parked. Connect a rear-seat video screen and wireless headphones, and the folks in back can keep watching while you’re on the road. “Tri-Zone” capability means you can listen to one source, like the radio, up front while a movie plays in back and the AVIC-Z2 continues navigating.
